In the practice of law, you don’t have control over much. You can’t control the facts of the cases you are assigned. You can’t control who your adversaries, clients, witnesses or who your Judge will be. You can, however, control how you react to all of the situations that are thrown at you. You can choose to do your best with the cards you are dealt and learn how to become a better lawyer with each challenge. Your success in this profession is certain if you recognize that this is the only thing that you can control.
