5 Minute Meditations for the Busy Lawyer

I love being a litigator, but I had no idea how to cope with the stress and anxiety that naturally came along with the work.

As with most young lawyers, it didn't hit me all at once. It was a gradual process caused by late nights, working through weekends and the inability to turn my legal mind off.

After the extreme stress led to an ER visit and a week off from work in recovery, I knew something had to change. Accordingly, I turned to meditation, along with other mindfulness techniques, to help.

Slowly, I saw changes in my attitude, my productivity and my personal and professional relationships.

The first thing most lawyers tell me when I mention this as a remedy to stress, anxiety or burnout is that they do not have enough time to add another task to their already lost list of responsibilities.

But what if you had just 5 minutes?

These are 5 minute meditations for the busy lawyer.

These are 5 minute meditations for the busy lawyer who loves the practice of law but wants to find a method to turn off the legal mind at home.

These are 5 minute meditations for the busy lawyer who wants to train his or her mind to learn that doing nothing is okay.

These are 5 minute meditations for the busy lawyer who wants to take the first steps towards making self-care a priority.

Not sure if mediation is for you? The best evidence is experience. Give it a try and see for yourself.
